What is Alexa?
Alexa is a US-based internet company that performs web metering and SEO tools specific to Amazon.
It is an organization that ranks all websites on the internet based on some criteria. It can also be defined as a system that measures both the name of the country where it exists and its level all over the world by analyzing each of the internet pages in detail. Founded in 1996, Alexa has a solid database because it is very old. For this reason, it is preferred as the first measurement tool to be looked at when it is desired to obtain information for a random website.
While measuring, Alexa takes the actions of the users to the website and performs measurements according to this basis. Among these criteria, it determines whether the user entered through the search engine or used the address. Or, it creates an analysis based on this data, taking into account how many pages they have accessed on the site and the time they stay on that website.
Is it OK to Trust Alexa?
Certainly, no analysis system gives results by making 100% pinpoint accuracy. As a result, it makes progress on the sample in Alexa, making assumptions about all traffic. However, Alexa displays approximately the most realistic data on behalf of a site today. However, if Alexa says that a website is ranked in the top 100 sites in a country, this is probably a correct assumption. We can think of this situation as a rating. Just like the rating data of a TV show or a program is advertised accordingly, Alexa performs the same task in the virtual world. In other words, those who want to advertise on any web page are based on the data analyzed by Alexa and advertise on that web page according to this data.
Relationship between Alexa and SEO
If a website has a higher Alexa value, it does not mean that it has a good search engine optimization (SEO). But it can show that it has been visited (hits) much more. Even if more visits are considered as a positive criterion in terms of SEO, it cannot be considered as a criterion for SEO success.
